I would guess that B-west also forgot to tell the Chinese how they wanted them marked, so what you got is a rifle with no name, an oddball serial number, and enough markings to make AT and unconstitutional F happy.Fairbanks & Vega banjos, Dating & Identifying DATING A.C. I use this story because it was told to me by the Keng family.

I was in pain from laughing at how easy it was to get these rifles marked exactly as the importers wanted, but we were also a little disappointed that there will be no way to know for sure how many of the Galil folder were imported. Unfortunately when it came to how many they ordered and received of the Galil style, there was no way to tell, so they figured somewhere above the 200 minimum order, but less than 400 per the total of both that was shipped. They also forgot to tell the Chinese to use a different name. It didn't dawn on them to count the new style as they sold them until they realized that the serial numbers on both styles followed numerically, with no way to tell the two apart on the legal papers. The problem was when they ordered the new style, along with an order for the original style, they forgot to tell the Chinese to start a new serial number line for the Galil side folder as the Kengs called it. Since they were having problems selling them with the standard 56S-2 sidefolder, they decided to copy the design they saw on a Galil. We about died laughing as they told me about the two versions of their AKS-762 sidefolder variation of the Norinco 56S-2. One of my favorite conversations on imported firearms was with the Keng family, as they told me how they had to be careful when ordering a special firearm to get the markings as they wanted. Guessing B-west forgot to ask to have a name stamped on the rifle, but also surprised that they just didn't do it themselves as a couple of other importers did. The Chinese would mark the rifles in any way the importer asked.
